Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. recently unveiled Sphere, a “next-generation” entertainment venue packed with an impressive variety of multi-sensory 4D technologies designed to immerse audiences in a number of captivating experiences.

Opening this fall in Vegas, the absolutely-gargantuan stadium is complete with a giant “Exosphere” featuring roughly 580,000 square feet of high-powered LED lighting capable of displaying massive animated visuals. The real magic, however, takes place inside the main venue bowl.

Here you’ll find a 16K x 16K high-resolution LED screen that wraps around the audience. According to MSG Entertainment, Sphere features the highest-resolution LED screen on Earth. There’s also Sphere Immersive Sound, an advanced concert audio system capable of delivering multiple forms of audio content to specific seats in the audience using a technology referred to as beamforming.

Speaking of seats, Sphere houses 10,000 immersive chairs complete with an infrasound haptic system that allow audience members to “feel” various environmental effects, like the rumble of thunder or a motorcycle. The venue also features various multisensory technologies, including temperature control as well as scent-based immersion.

The first Sphere Experience, Postcard from Earth, will open to the public this fall. The approximately 60-minute experience will offer audiences “a unique perspective on the magnificent beauty of life on Earth.” Tickets are on sale now over at thespherevegas.com.

“We are redefining the future of entertainment through Sphere,” said James L. Dolan, executive chairman and CEO of MSG Entertainment, in an official release. “Sphere provides a new medium for directors, artists, and brands to create experiences that cannot be seen or told anywhere else, and Sphere Experiences are just one of the ways we will use the venue’s technologies to engage the senses and transport audiences to places both real and imagined. Postcard from Earth will set a new bar for multi-sensory storytelling possibilities, and we look forward to having audiences experience it at Sphere this fall.”
