Host your own covid-safe Super Bowl party or meet new friends in the public room.
This Sunday the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. Unfortunately, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced football fans (the responsible ones anyway) to cancel their annual Super Bowl festivities in order to adhere to proper social distancing guidelines. Thankfully, social VR platform Bigscreen is here to provide you with a covid-safe alternative to enjoying this year’s big game with others.
This upcoming Sunday, CBS Sports will be streaming Super Bowl LV free-of-charge via its website, allowing anyone with a steady internet connection to catch the big game live. Taking advantage of this unique opportunity, Bigscreen will be hosting a live stream of CBS’s coverage via its VR social rooms. Here you can enjoy all the action side-by-side with friends, family, and fellow football fanatics via any compatible VR headset, including the Oculus Quest/Quest 2, Oculus Rift/Rift S, SteamVR, Valve Index, and Windows Mixed Reality.
Those on PC VR headsets also have the option of streaming the game from their desktops. This allows you to create your own personal room in which to enjoy the game privately or with a select group of users. Up to 12 users are allowed in a single room at one time.
To get started, simply download the Bigscreen app and select the CBS Sports live stream featured on the home page on February 7th at 3:30 PM PT/6:30 PM EST. Those looking to create their own private party will need to download the desktop companion app in order to stream content to their private room.
Recently, Bigscreen launched over 172 free channels, allowing users to stream popular Adult Swim shows like Rick and Morty, The Venture Bros., Robot Chicken, and The Eric Andre Show just to name a few.
With the addition of live Super Bowl coverage, Bigscreen only further cements itself as one of VR’s most versatile and exciting social platforms.
