The latest Among Us VR update is now live, adding in-game reporting and voice chat moderation to combat toxicity.
Continuing its steady stream of Among Us VR updates, Schell Games confirmed its latest patch details through a blog post. Alongside a ‘Bullying/Harassment’ reporting option, this new update implements ToxMod, an AI tool from Modulate that flags potential harassment. Suspected issues are said to be reviewed by a human moderation team as well, leading to a temporary or permanent ban depending on “the severity and frequency of the behavior.”
“Modulate encrypts all data sent off-device and we never share your personal information with third parties,” Schell notes in an official blog post.
Schell notes that at this time, ToxMod can only moderate English and there’s no timeframe mentioned for supporting further languages. The new update also includes 11 free hats as part of the “Mostly Polus favorites” set.
First announced in December’s Among Us VR 2023 roadmap, Schell Games has now released most of these planned updates like custom lobby settings and additional cosmetics. More recently, Schell provided a fresh look at the upcoming Polus-inspired map, now titled Polus Point following a public vote. However, no release window was provided for this map.
Among Us VR is available now on Quest 2, Quest Pro and PC VR via Steam. A PSVR 2 version is in development, though a release date remains unconfirmed.
