The Source VR Mod Team is back with year another highly-anticipated VR mod.
This past September Half-Life 2: VR Mod launched on Steam, allowing players to immerse themselves in Valve’s iconic first-person shooter game like never before. In the official roadmap, the Source VR Mod Team teased eventual VR support for Half-Life 2: Episode One and Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
Today we learned that Half-Life 2: VR Mod – Episode One will be available on PC VR headsets via Steam on March 17th, 2023, according to the Steam page. The mod will be available as a free download to existing owners of the game. You do not need to install the original game in order to play in VR; you must simply own a copy on Steam.
Similar to Half-Life 2: VR Mod, Half-Life 2: VR Mod – Episode One will feature room-scale VR support as well as realistic weapon interactions, support for bHaptic vests, and additional arcade-style settings. The mod will be accessible on any PC VR headset compatible with SteamVR, including HTC Vive, Valve Index, and Meta Quest headsets via Air Link.
Half-Life 2: Episode One is available now for $7.99 on Steam.
