HTC’s Black Friday sale offers discounts on the Vive Pro 2, Vive Tracker 3.0, Vive Pro wireless adapter, and the base stations.
Vive Pro 2
The Vive Pro 2 full PC VR kit with tracking base stations and controllers is down to $1000, from its normal price of $1400.
The headset alone is down to $574 from $799, but only choose this option if you already have base stations and controllers.
Vive Pro 2 offers 2.5K per eye LCD panels with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, as well as (according to HTC) wider field of view lenses than most headsets.
Vive Tracker 3.0
Vive Tracker 3.0 is down to $100, from its normal price of $130. Vive Trackers are mainly used for full body tracking in VRChat on SteamVR.
The 3.0 model is smaller and lighter than its predecessor, but the price increased to $130, so this deal gives you those improvements at the original price.
Vive Pro & Cosmos Wireless Adapter
The Vive Wireless Adapter full kit is down from $350 to just $200.
It supports Vive Pro, Vive Pro 2, and all Vive Cosmos series headsets.
It’s incredibly freeing to no longer be physically tethered to your PC, but keep in mind the installation is quite involved. You need to install a PCIe card inside your PC, and you’ll want to wall mount the transmitter for ideal performance. Further, it’s limited to 90Hz refresh rate and 1632×1632 per eye resolution.
Tracking Base Stations
The original HTC SteamVR tracking base stations are down from $135 to $100, while the HTC 2.0 base stations are down from $200 to $150.
Keep in mind Valve sells its own 2.0 base stations for $150 already, and there are no advantages to HTC’s base stations we’re aware of.
SteamVR Tracking 2.0 supports up to four base stations, which can improve the tracking’s robustness to occlusion.
The original base stations work with all SteamVR tracked devices, including any trackers, headsets, and controllers. The 2.0 base stations however will only work with 2.0 tracked devices, so keep that in mind.
