Meta’s latest Asgard’s Wrath 2 deep dive details key features within your in-game hub.
Following previous blogs about the dungeon-crawling Uncharted Rifts mode and the Cosmic Guardian protagonist, the new Asgard’s Wrath 2 update comes from Senior Game Producer Mari Kyle. Whisked away by Horus, the Cosmic Guardian reaches the Great Hall of the Sun, also called The Hideout, guarded by a warrior-like Demi-God called Medjet.
Among the friendly Ally Gods within is Bes, an old ally of Horus and merchant who runs the Bazaar where you can craft potions. Ptah is described as a craftsman who can create armor or weapons, alongside informing you where temples and mysteries are across the Great Sand Sea.
Two further Ally Gods, Polydeuces and Castor, will join you but, like the Cosmic Guardian, they also come from faraway mythologies to assist with cooking food and hunting gear. Kyle calls hunting “a very important part of the Asgard’s Wrath 2 universe,” where you can hunt wildlife or craft bait to lure out apex predators. Kyle describes the latter as being like mini-bosses.
Mini-games are available which include a slingshot shooting gallery, awarding different prizes and sharing your scores through leaderboards. There’s also a Disc Slider minigame that mixes pinball and shuffleboard. Fishing can provide materials for cooking. Finally, Kyle outlines some tough ritual combat challenges with the Pillars of Neith. Completing those unlocks an endless mode and additional perks.
Asgard’s Wrath 2 arrives on December 15 for the Meta Quest platform for $60, though anyone who purchases a Quest 3 before January 27, 2024 will receive a free copy. You can read our recent impressions below to find out more:
