This is your last chance to play Ready at Dawn’s competitive esports shooter before it disappears forever.
Earlier this year we learned that the popular multiplayer VR games Echo Arena and Echo Combat will be permanently shutting down on August 1st, 2023 at 10:00 am PT as developer Read at Dawn consolidates studio support.
Yesterday, the company announced that Echo Combat is now available to download and play 100% free of charge until the game goes offline later this summer. That said, you will need a Meta Rift or Rift S headset in order to access the game.
“Starting May 2nd, we will be granting free access to Combat to everyone!” said the company in an official blog post. The game will still only be available when running the Rift version of Echo VR, but now everyone can hop in and try out Echo Combat before August 1st. Please enjoy all the pew-pew you can get.”
“We wanted to show all our players how much we’ve appreciated their support over the past few years. Sharing this content feels like the best way to thank all the players and offer you all the ability to express yourselves.”
Ready at Dawn is also rewarding Echo Arena players with a Season 7 rewards event, Echo Pass: Into the Knight, that includes a bounty of 2D and 3D unlockable rewards. The company provided a detailed breakdown of available cosmetics which you’ll find above.
