Play, stream, and spectate non-VR games from the comfort of your own personal VR hangout.
Fast Travel Games is launching its GameVRoom app, which will allow you to play all of your favorite non-VR games in your Steam library on a virtual screen using your VR headset and controllers.
Along with being able to create your own personalized virtual environments —such as a sweet upscale apt or a spaceship traveling through the deep void of outer space—you can also set up custom key bindings, and host private or public games with up to three other players.
Some other cool features in the GameVRoom app include:
- Emulate a mouse, keyboard, or gamepad in a seamless way tailored for VR.
- Create virtual buttons to control the game you’re playing.
- Bind controller actions, gestures, or poses to any keyboard, mouse, or gamepad button.
- Watch as a spectator, participate in split-screen “couch co-op” or control different parts of the same single-player game.
“GameVRoom harnesses the power of VR so players can re-experience their Steam games in a shared, immersive space,” said Jonatan Crafoord, Creative Director & Co-Founder at Really Interactive in an official press release.
“Whether you want to bring back some nostalgia with split-screen multiplayer or just hang out while watching a friend play, GameVRoom offers a host of features to enhance the original gaming experience,” he added. “This is just the beginning – many more features will be added throughout Early Access.”
You can pick up GameVRoom through Early Access on December 15th for $9.99.
