Immersive technology bring the highly-anticipated show to life in the real-world.
Snap Inc. has partnered with HBO to launch a series of AR-powered Snapchat Lenses inspired by House of Dragons, the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series. This includes a selfie Lens that turns you into a fire-breathing dragon as well as a unique worldview Lens and several Landmarker Lenses.
Each of these AR filters will be available during the show’s premiere on August 21st via the Lens Carousel. The aforementioned worldview Lens utilizes sky segmentation technology to fill the sky with terrifying flying beasts. For the Landmarker Lenses, the company enlisted the help of top Snapchat creators from around the world to create high-quality location-based experiences.
The first of these Game of Thones-inspired Landmarker Lenses will be available this Sunday at the following locations:
- Sankagiri Fort – Chennai, India
- Tower Bridge – London, UK
- Venice Beach Grand Canals – Los Angeles, California
- CST Station (IE Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) – Mumbai, India
- Charles Bridge – Prague, Czech Republic
- Princess Isabel Statue, Brazil – Rio De Janeiro
According to the company, roughly 20 Snapchat Lenses are expected to launch over the course of the show’s first season in locations throughout Australia, Europe, India, the Middle East, North America and North Africa.
