HTC today announced the upcoming launch of Vive Bytes, a new marketplace specializing in anime, cartoon, and games (ACG) themed NFTs coming soon to its VR content platform Viveport. Opening next month to the general public, visitors can purchase exclusive NFTs and “NFT mystery boxes” using modern fiat and cryptocurrencies.
The inaugural sales event will include exclusive NFTs from the recent Step into Cat Art Online Exhibition hosted on Viveport. Visitors will have the opportunity to claim their own 2D and 3D CAT ART created by acclaimed Japanese artist Shu Yamamoto, including “The Hisstine Chapel” ceiling painting.
This particular NFT can be claimed by participating in a collection of “Collect-to-Unlock” NFT Mystery Box special events. Anyone who purchases 2D CART ART will be offered the chance to acquire limited-edition 3D CAT ART model NFTs in the following weeks.
“NFTs are changing how we think about identity and ownership, and VIVE BYTES is at the forefront of unlocking the potential of creative works and making digital works more accessible for consumers and creators,” said Joseph Lin, General Manager at Viveport.
“Following the launch of the world’s first Cat Art online exhibition with our partners last year, we’re delivering new formats of CAT ART NFTs – enabling visitors to grow and diversify their collection of digital works.”
At launch, visitors will have the ability to acquire NFTs via direct purchases and mystery boxes by pairing their MetaMask wallets. According to HTC, an official auction system is also on the way.
