Help Gary and Mooncake save the universe in this four-person cooperative adventure.

Final Space is a hilarious sci-fi animated series that follows the misadventures of space explorer Gary Goodspeed and his adorable yet powerful sidekick, Mooncake; who together with their friends, travel throughout space in search of the edge of the universe, aka “Final Space.” Much to the dismay of fans, show creator Olan Rogers confirmed this past September that the show would be ending with season 3, on a cliffhanger no less.

Rogers also announced that he’s working on several video game adaptations of the series, one of which will be an original VR game. Recently, the show’s official Twitter account tweeted out a 15-second video teasing a 4 player co-op VR game called Final Space: The Rescue.

The video just gives us a fleeting look at some gameplay, but so far we really like what we see. Based on the footage provided, it appears as though we can expect a fair amount of gunplay using a variety of futuristic weaponry. It’s unclear if players can expect to play the role of the show’s protagonist, though I’m sure the game will include at least some of the regular cast as well as the sarcasm that makes the Adult Swim show so fun! Rogers did respond to someone’s question asking if the game will be an arena shooter, tweeting, “Nope. Not an arena shooter, story-driven.”

Since the Twitter announcement, the video has already garnered over 25K views, with fans from around the world asking when they can expect to get their hands on the game. Unfortunately, we still have no information regarding a potential release date. According to the team, however, we can expect a full trailer soon.

The game itself is being developed by Grab Games, the same studio behind the popular VR game Knockout League. To learn more about Final Space: The Rescue, follow their Twitter page and the hashtag #FinalSpaceTheRescue.
