The location-based VR provider is bringing three of its most popular immersive experiences to the Garden State.
Dreamscape Immersive, the popular location-based VR center responsible for free-roam VR experiences such as Men In Black: First Assignment and DreamWorks Dragons: Flight Academy, recently announced the opening of a new location at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey, marking the first time its VR entertainment will be available on the east coast.
Founded back in 2016, Dreamscape uses a combination of VR, full-body tracking, and haptic feedback technology to immerse players in captivating virtual experiences. Each adventure features its own unique setup tailor-made for a variety of unique player interactions, whether you’re touring an intergalactic wildlife park in the aforementioned Alien Zoo or jumping straight into the action in Curse of the Lost Pearl: A Magic Projector Adventure.
“Dreamscape was founded to be a place where people make lifelong memories by exploring fantastical worlds with their friends and family,” said Walter Parkes, co-founder and CEO of Dreamscape, in an official release. “We believe in pushing creative boundaries, and Dreamscape VR combines premium technology with awe-inspiring, breathtaking content to fully engage our audience in the experience like never before. We can’t wait to open our doors in Paramus so guests can enjoy our one-of-a-kind VR adventures.”
Upon opening later this week, Dreamscape’s New Jersey location will feature three location-based experiences in which to enjoy (as provided by Dreamscape Immersive):
- Alien Zoo – “For the first time ever, the Intergalactic Wildlife Federation is allowing humans to visit the Alien Zoo – an intergalactic refuge containing all kinds of extraordinary and wonderous creatures, some dangerous, but all endangered.“
- Curse of the Lost Pearl: A Magic Projector Adventure – “Deep in the jungles of Mesoamerica, the Temple of the Snake God rumbles with anger. You’re on a quest to find the lost pearl, but intruders are not welcome here.”
- DreamWorks Dragons: Flight Academy – “Enlist in the dragons flight academy and help Hiccup and Astrid rescue the village from invaders.”
“Our long-time partnership with Dreamscape delivers on AMC Theaters’ mission to provide a best-in-class, innovative experience to audiences everywhere,” said Adam Aron, CEO and President of AMC Entertainment. “We’re excited to bring Dreamscape virtual reality to the Greater New Jersey and New York metro area at Dreamscape at AMC Garden State, offering moviegoers a futuristic adventure that takes entertainment to new heights.”
“We serve our community by bringing together unique and exciting experiences, and Dreamscape is a perfect fit as it complements our existing offerings,” added Jay Daly, senior general manager of Westfield Garden State Plaza, which serves about 18 million guests annually. “Dreamscape’s premium VR technology transports our guests to a whole new world from their own backyard, and we are excited for the creative possibilities it holds for our guests during this upcoming holiday season.”
Dreamscape at AMC Garden State will be open to the public on November 19th inside the AMC Garden State 16 theatre. Those interested can purchase advance tickets at dreamscapeimmersive.com. In addition to the latest New Jersey location, Dreamscape centers can also be found in Los Angeles, Dallas, Ohio, and Dubai, with more locations to come.
