Check out the latest trailer for the upcoming VR survival horror game here.
During the Resident Evil Showcase this past April, Capcom revealed Resident Evil 4 VR, a full VR port of the classic 2005 survival horror game coming soon to Oculus Quest 2 headsets. Earlier today, Oculus revealed an official October release date alongside a new trailer that offers us our best look yet at the highly-anticipated action-horror experience.
Developed in collaboration with Oculus Studios and Armature Studio, Resident Evil 4 VR has you stepping into the role of Leon Kennedy, a seasoned American Federal Agent tasked with rescuing the president’s daughter from a group of psychotic cultists based out of an unnamed village in rural Spain. Along the way, you’ll battle a never-ending horde of pitchfork-wielding villagers infected by a mind-controlling parasite, solve a wide assortment of ancient puzzles, and go head-to-head with a handful of grotesque monsters, each more horrific than the last.
Unlike past versions of the game, Resident Evil 4 VR will, for the first time, allow players to experience the game in VR from a first-person perspective. Instead of a gamepad, Leon is controlled using the Oculus Touch controllers, promising a whole new level of immersion as you physically cut enemies with your combat knife and cock your pump shotgun.
The latest trailer offers a closer look at the bleak environments you’ll be traversing as well as the many different enemies you’ll come face-to-face with, from the Armadura, Plaga-possessed suits of armor, to the El Gigante, massive trolls capable of delivering massive damage.
Resident Evil 4 VR arrives on Oculus Quest 2 headsets on October 21st. No word yet on an official price.
