Experience as many as 37 projects from 21 countries as well as the brand new Venice VRChat Worlds Gallery.
The 2021 Venice Film Festival is set to kick off this September, bringing with it yet another diverse collection of groundbreaking projects from some of the most creative minds in the field. As was the case with last year’s event, attendees can once again enjoy a wide range of VR content remotely thanks to a partnership with Oculus and Viveport.
Split into several categories, Venice VR Expanded will feature 37 projects from 21 countries around the world. 23 of these projects will be presented as part of the “Competition” event. Another 12 titles released within the last year will be entered into the “Out of Competition – Best Of” category. The other two projects will be presented in person at the festival and will not be available for remote viewing.
New to this years’ festival is the VRChat Worlds Gallery, a virtual event space featuring 35 unique worlds built specifically for the popular social VR platform. This virtual exhibit will also feature a variety of live performances, several “Meet the Creator” sessions, and opening and closing parties. Some of the aforementioned events will only be available to accredited guests.
