Two weeks ago Fast Travel Games stopped by with some new gameplay for Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife. Today the team is back with an expanded take on that clip.
The footage that we debuted earlier in the month as part of Upload Access showcased the ‘Powers of a Wraith’, with some footage for each of your different supernatural abilities. Now Afterlife creative director Erik Odeldahl is back to give us some more insight behind each ability. Take a look below.
Odeldahl provides some new information on some of the powers we’ve already seen for the game. For example, insubstantiality, which lets walk through walls, will also take a toll on the user’s health, so it’s important to use it only when absolutely necessary. Sharpened Senses, meanwhile, won’t just point you towards objectives but also help you keep track of the game’s creepy Spectres, which hunt players in certain environments.
You’ll need these powers to survive Wraith, which is aiming to be a different, more moody kind of VR horror experience. We spoke to Odeldahl earlier this month about how Fast Travel is approaching its scares and, last week, also discussed what went into bringing the World of Darkness to VR.
Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife launches on Oculus Quest and Rift on April 22nd. A SteamVR version follows on May 25th, with a PSVR edition planned for later in the year. Will you be checking out Wraith? Let us know in the comments below, and check back a little later in the month for the final instalment in our Upload Access spotlight on the game.
