Stardust Collective’s Ziggy’s Cosmic Adventures is coming later this year, and it’s one to keep an eye on.
The trailer for the new PC VR game went live this weekend alongside a new Steam page. In the game the player is hunted by an alien race after stealing their pet research project (pun intended) named Ziggy. Players need to steer their ship through the solar system to escape, surviving incoming attacks and maintain their craft as they go. Check out the trailer below.
True, Ziggy’s premise is a little crazy but it houses what looks like some really compelling VR-first design. Your ship’s cockpit, for example, can be navigated in roomscale VR and is fully interactive. Stardust tells us that flying your craft it all done with motion controllers, as are most interactions. You’ll need to keep different elements of the ship in check.
The game plays out by hopping to different parts of the solar system. What you’ll find in each area remains a mystery and you can take different paths, creating an experience that’s intended to be unique for every player. Sometimes you’ll find yourself under attack from enemy ships and have to fight back.
Stardust says that, in the final version of the game, a run through the campaign will take 90 minutes, but players will want to complete multiplayer playthroughs if they hope to see all the levels and get on leaderboards.
We’re looking forward to seeing more from Ziggy’s Cosmic Adventures later this year, then. Are you looking forward to the game? Let us know in the comments below!
