Embark on 26 military missions as an airborne division jumper or infantry soldier.
Days of Heroes: D-Day is an upcoming military shooter for Oculus Rift/Rift S and SteamVR headsets that will have you stepping into the boots of a soldier for the United States military as you take part in the single largest seaborne invasion ever conducted, Operation Overlord, most commonly referred to as D-Day.
Conducted June 6th, 1944, the Normandy landings involved the coordination of 156,115 U.S., British, and Canadian troops, 6,939 ships and landing vessels, 2,395 aircraft, and 867 gliders. The operation began during the pre-dawn hours with the deployment of thousands of paratroopers before a primary force of 150,000 allied soldiers stormed the beachfront in what is still considered the largest landing operation in martial history.
Days of Heroes offers you a chance to experience this historic conflict yourself, from the chaos of Omaha Beach to the harsh conditions of a POW camp. Throughout the campaign, you’ll play as both an airborne division jumper tasked with disrupting enemy operations under the cover of night as well as an infantry soldier storming the beachfront in an all-out assault.
Broken up into 26 missions (plus two bonus shooting range missions), you’ll perform a variety of exciting objectives, from destroying enemy planes, tanks, and vehicles to clearing enemy trenches and sabotaging enemy operations. Along the way, you’ll handle over a dozen WWII weapons, including anti-aircraft guns, sniper rifles, flamethrowers, axes, artillery, grenades, and a variety of other lethal accouterments.
According to developer Zen Apps Studio, Days of Heroes is currently being developed for the Oculus Rift/Rift S and HTC Vive. There’s no official release date as of yet, but you can wishlist the game on Steam.
