Chat with friends across multiple platforms via this intimate socialVR app.
VTime’s cross-platform social network vTime XR is now available on Facebook’s Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 headsets, offering standalone users a premium socialVR experience centered primarily around intimate group meet-ups.
Unlike prominent VR platforms such as VRChat and Altspace VR which allow for dozens of users in one space, vTime XR specializes in high-quality conversations between groups of two to four. These virtual meetups can take place in a variety of exotic locations, from an undersea shipwreck and Arctic tundra to a beautiful Japanese garden and vertigo-inducing cliff side.
Here you can chat with your group and share personal media, immerse yourself in 360-degree photos, and capture virtual selfies. Most recently, vTime introduced its new “Theaters” feature, allowing groups to enjoy curated content together in unique locations like the Sports Bar and Video Bowl.
“We are delighted to add Quest to the line-up of platforms that the vTime XR experience is available for,” said vTime Managing Director Clemens Wangerin in an official release. “Newcomers to the network will find a high-quality social experience unlike any other, with a focus on small group conversations in beautifully realized 3D worlds and a range of media sharing options. With a set of user-friendly options and permissions that puts everyone in control over who they interact with and how, vTime XR creates a unique, safe and intimate experience.”
“As Oculus expands the Quest catalogue to include more social VR, we’re bringing our own sociable experience to this game-changing platform,” added Daniel Sefton, vTime Marketing, in a company blog update. “From today, Quest and Quest 2 users will be able to get cosy in The Study, watch the world go by in Orbital, and feel the dizzying heights in On the Edge.”
In addition to Quest, user can access the vTime XR platform via a wide variety of headsets, AR, and on smartphones via “Magic Window” mode. Last week vTime introduced an AR avatar messaging app called vTag on compatible iOS devices, allowing users to communicate via augmented reality characters brought to life via a combination of face and body tracking.
VTime XR is available free on Oculus Quest/Quest 2, Oculus Rift/Rift S, Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard, Google Play, and the iOS App Store.
